If you have ever been to Boston City Hall, you know that it is not the most attractive building around. As ugly as it is, on Friday the 13th of this month, it was a very special place for a few people. Photo by AlexiusHoratius Meet Emily, TJ, and their son. They hired me to photograph their City Hall wedding, The first time I spoke with Emily, I liked her right away. She was so excited about her upcoming marriage, it was infectious. I had just met her and I was so excited, too. When they stepped out of the elevator to meet me on the 6th floor, I was wowed by how beautiful Emily looked. I told her she looked beautiful. Quickly TJ agreed, "I know, she does look beautiful! "……. So sweet. TJ and their son looked pretty handsome, too. There were several couples waiting before us. This gave me some time to get to know them better. It was hard for their little guy to wait, understandably, but he was very well behaved. I was so impressed with the staff in the office. They interacted with him so kindly. They offered him candy and even suggested that he could ring the bell if he wanted to. Of course he wanted to, what kid wouldn't want to. Finally, it was their turn. The very friendly staff ushered us into the office of the Boston City Clerk, Maureen Feeney. She was very apologetic for the wait and instantly made everyone feel welcome. She went over all the paperwork and explained the ceremony. I was so impressed by how warm she was and how she made them feel as if their wedding was the only marriage ceremony she had preformed. She never made it feel like, let's get this done. She took the time to interact with them personally and made special time for their son. She asked him how old he was. He insisted that he was 3 years old. He is actually 4, but he recently turned 4. I love how he is looking at his parents to see if it is okay to take the lollipops that are offered. She even let him play with the glass award that was one her desk and ……………... …….the antique typewriter. Let the ceremony begin! I Love the expression on the little guy and on Emily and TJ. My favorite part……. I love romantic stuff! They are so in love! After the ceremony, Emily said something to the effect of , "Well, that's over with!" Without skipping a beat, TJ replied, "No it's just beginning!" Gotta love this guy! We head outside for some more photos. Friday the 13th was my lucky day because I got to share it with this sweet family! Best wishes and may God bless your lives, Emily, TJ, and Liam.

Perfect title "A Special city hall wedding" The warmth of this couples love, shared with their son was so spot on. Some pictures in color and others in black and white, with a story to go with them. AM caught the kindness that followed them through their story on Friday the 13th. Beautifully done.

What a stunning piece of photojournalism this is! It shows what a modern city hall ceremony consists of. And it makes me want to know their back story - especially his.
